Mr. Yung-Ching Wang, the founder of Formosa Plastics Group (FPG), a Taiwan-based multinational company, established Chang Gung University (CGU) in 1987. Since then, striding as a top university with global impact has been our main aim. CGU has since built up expertise in engineering and management, which further enhanced its core programs in medicine and biotechnology.
Currently, CGU has nearly 30 departments and graduate institutes in 3 colleges: the College of Medicine, the College of Engineering, and the College of Management. CGU has a faculty of over 1,200 full-time and part-time teaching staffs and over 7,300 students.
Integrating research and education, and with an interdisciplinary approach, CGU has become an outstanding private university in Taiwan, endowed by government agencies, enterprises, and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, making significant societal impacts in healthcare and beyond. Looking ahead, CGU will continue to pursue significant progress in teaching, research, industry-academic cooperation, and international exchange.
