The international research collaborations of NSYSU are also outstanding. Two international research centers were established in Sri Lanka and Latvia respectively: the “Taiwan and Sri Lanka Environmental Change Sciences and Technology Innovation Center” and the “Taiwan and the Baltic States Research Center on Physics”. NSYSU also expanded its link with Ghent University in Belgium in order to focus on collaborations of blue energy, wind power generation, photonics/materials science, as well as bio-medical sciences and engineering research.

Currently, NSYSU is preparing to establish a Department of Post Baccalaureate Medicine and the College of Medicine at its Ren-wu campus. With the College of Medicine underway, the University will take the responsibility to facilitate the development of local industry, economy and culture and will simultaneously aim to bridge the gap regarding medical resources between the northern and southern Taiwan.
National Sun Yat-sen University has a greater vision to earn a ranking in the Top 200 Universities in the World by 2030, and all the students, faculty and staff will strive to reach the goal.
